Gorgeous Rooms to inspire your Shiplap Dreams

August 1, 2017

Shiplap has been a major trend in decor for the past few years and its popularity doesn’t appear to be waning. Everything from lake houses to farm houses to beach cottages are being transformed with this budget-friendly textured wall treatment.
This past week in Florida, we stayed in a gorgeous home that had practically every surface covered in crisp white shiplap. It was so inspiring to see all the different room styles sporting this style.

Even the ceilings were covered in whitewashed panels to break up all the white and add some warmth.

We’re no stranger to the shiplap trend in Carlton Landing. In our Boardwalk Bungalow, the upstairs hallway is shiplapped along with the master bathroom. Ours is a rougher texture and a little less polished overall.

This stylish bunkroom features soft cream shiplap with a more transitional aesthetic.

And white shiplap is the perfect backdrop for practically any color. Pops of bright blue feel beachy and fresh in this bedroom vignette.

And shiplap used as a vent hood in a kitchen is an unexpected and casual spin. The brass sconces keep it from skewing too rustic.

Shiplap in other colors hasn’t gained widespread popularity, but this photo from Studio McGee shows how chic it is in a matte black finish.

And I’m also currently obsessing this charcoal grey/brown accent wall in the new listing in CL by Ripplecreek Homes.
Speaking of accent walls, Table & Hearth DIY’d their shiplap wall and painted it a calming shade of blue grey. A great way to introduce color and texture without committing to the whole room.

And my other current obsession is the color of this moody blue shiplap. Paired with brass sconces and that tile floor? Well, it’s pretty much heaven on earth.

So tell me in the comments – are you over shiplap? Or are you all “Bring it on – let’s paint the town shiplap!”.
